Rose Sealcoating is based in Ingersoll, a short drive from Woodstock, and we offer driveway sealcoating in Woodstock with the same owner-operator service we give at home. Chris Rose quotes, preps and seals every driveway himself, so the person you talk to is the person who does the work.
Woodstock has a bit of everything: established streets with driveways that have seen plenty of winters, and newer neighbourhoods where the asphalt is only a few years old. Each needs a different approach, and we’ll tell you honestly what yours needs.

Newer homes: when to seal for the first time
Woodstock has grown a lot, and many homeowners are living with their first asphalt driveway on a newer build. The most common question we get is: when should a new driveway be sealed?
The answer is about two years after it’s paved. New asphalt needs time to cure and harden. Seal it too soon and the surface can stay soft; wait too long and the sun and salt have already started drying it out. Around the two-year mark, a first coat locks in that fresh look and protects the surface from the start. After that, sealing every two to three years keeps it in good shape.
Older driveways: fix first, then seal
On established streets, many driveways have been through a decade or more of freeze-thaw. You’ll usually see:
- Cracks along the edges and down the middle where water has gotten in
- Grey, faded asphalt where the sun has dried out the surface
- Rough patches or small holes where stones have started to come loose
Sealer alone won’t fix any of that. We fill the cracks first and repair holes where needed, then seal over a sound surface. That way the sealcoat actually lasts instead of covering up problems that keep growing. Learn about crack filling ยท Learn about pothole repair
How we sealcoat your Woodstock driveway
- Free on-site quote. Chris comes out to Woodstock, looks at your driveway and gives you a clear price.
- Clean and prep the whole surface so the sealer bonds.
- Fill cracks and repair damage before any sealer goes down.
- Seal with an asphalt emulsion sealer, in one or two coats depending on the driveway.
- Block it off to cure, and tell you exactly when you can use it again.
We use asphalt emulsion sealer because it’s made from asphalt, the same material as your driveway, so it bonds rather than sitting on top. Chris is also AKPRO certified. Read more about our driveway sealcoating.
Planning around the weather
Sealer needs dry, warm days to cure. We keep an eye on the forecast for every job. If rain is coming, we’ll move your appointment rather than risk the finish. Spring and early summer book up fast, so it’s worth getting your quote early. You can book it any time of year.

My house in Woodstock is a newer build. Is it too soon to seal?
If the driveway was paved less than about two years ago, it’s best to wait. New asphalt needs time to cure before it’s sealed.
Can you fix cracks and holes before sealing?
Yes. We fill cracks and repair damaged spots first, so the sealer goes over a sound surface.
Do you sealcoat small commercial lots in Woodstock?
Yes. Call us to talk about your lot and we’ll come take a look.
